This occupation I have chosen truly fits me and who I am. My love and interest in art can only be described as: always! As a child, I started and painting at the age of six. My interest in glass actually began after high school, when I was 18 I found a book "Learn Stained Glass in 30 Minutes" I thought "well I can do that". I bough t some scrap glass, the wrong glass cutter, borrowed a soldering iron and produced my first stained glass window which hangs in my friend's house in Polson, Montana. For 30 years I did traditional copper foil and leaded stained glass. Some of my work still hangs today in my home town. Once I retired from my job, I began to teach myself fusing (kiln firing) techniques. Fused, hot glass and warm glass intrigued me because it allowed me to expand my creativity in a way traditional stained glass did not. Now, after 40 years of work in glass I have found my own way and yet still love making the work “new” with each season. The light and color of glass will continue to fascinate me.
